Evaluates each user request to determine the best format for analysis/display and ensures inclusion of appropriate data to fulfill the request. Ensure all Headquarters requests for data calls or improvements to the GIS system receive top priority and meet established completion deadlines. Continually evaluates system configuration to identify better avenues to optimize GIS for presentation to and for use by the base populace.</li><li style="line-height:normal">Provides support to base GIS users by installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of base GIS software and specialized hardware. Monitors the base GIS system to identify and recommend areas where system improvements of hardware/software could improve the performance of the system. Maintains a record of GIS-related software that remains under license and always available. Provides own assessment of situations and recommends means of modifying the programs, use of alternative methods or equipment, or other bypass techniques to accomplish the goals. When unusual problems arise, explain the situation to the proper expert and, if required, request professional assistance with system programming or analysis if required.</li><li style="line-height:normal">Oversee a variety of GIS-related programs and Data Steward Programs. Input drawings to S-file and floor Plan Data in GIS/dBase formatted output. Ensure floor plans are updated annually by the addition of any space changes and the inclusion of new facilities. Reviews and verify data prior to notifying Real Estate data is available for their review to add proper Real Estate codes to the new areas and forward the file to Headquarters.
